Ignacio Deschamps González Director

Mr. Deschamps was appointed Director of Scotiabank Chile in the shareholders meeting held on August 2nd, 2018 when the merger between BBVA Chile and Scotiabank Chile was approved.

Mr. Deschamps is a graduate of Instituto Politécnico Nacional in Mexico City and has a master of engineering administration from The George Washington University.

Prior to joining Scotiabank Group, he was a member of the Global Executive Committee of a leading European bank, where he was Chairman and CEO of Mexico’s largest bank, Head of South America, and Global Head of Retail.

In 2016, he was appointed strategic advisor for digital banking reporting to Scotiabank Group´s President and CEO. In February of 2016 he was appointed Group Head, International Banking and Digital Transformation of Scotiabank Group where he oversees the retail, SME and corporate & commercial banking outside Canada. He also leads the digital transformation efforts.
