Milestones in our history:

1990: Scotiabank enters in Chile

Scotiabank starts its operations in Chile after acquiring a minority stake in Banco SudAmericano.

2000: Scotiabank takes control of Banco SudAmericano

From this moment, the Bank kick-starts its growth and consolidation process in the Chilean market.

2007: Acquisition of Banco Del Desarrollo

With this acquisition Scotiabank doubles its size in Chile reaching a market share of 6.5%.

2010: Acquisition of Royal Bank of Scotland´s wholesale businesses in Chile and Colombia

2015: 51% purchase of Cencosud Administradora de Tarjetas (CAT)

Since this joint venture agreement took place, CAT had experienced a faster growth than the industry and became a leading institution in the credit card industry.

2018: Scotiabank acquires BBVA Chile

The merger was fully executed within 18 months following the acquisition and allowed the Bank to double its market share and become one of the leading financial institutions in the country.

2020: Scotiabank celebrates its 30th anniversary in Chile as one of the 5 largest banks in the country
