Ms. Ergas was appointed Director of Scotiabank Chile in the shareholders meeting held on April 25th, 2019. She holds a degree in business administration from the University of Chile, where she majored in economics. She also holds a master degree in political studies from Universidad de Los Andes and a professional certificate issued by the Institute of Directors and postgraduate studies in corporate government from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.
She has over 25 years of experience in the financial industry. Ms. Ergas held several positions in Treasury and International Banking for Banco de Chile and Banco Estado where she designed and implemented the international strategy for the Bank, coordinated the creation of the New York branch and successfully led issuances in multiple international markets. For over 7 years Ms. Ergas oversaw the relationship with regulators and supervisory bodies in United States.
Ms. Ergas was a professor for the economics department of the University of Chile and Adolfo Ibañez University. She is currently a Director for Paz Corp and Directors Institute of Chile.
